The Greenwood Police Department is one of the busiest police departments in central Indiana, handling over 27,000 requests for police service each year.  On average, the Greenwood Police communications center receives over two (2) E-911 calls for assistance each hour of the day.

 

GPD currently has 53 full time sworn officers as well as 20 civilian members. GPD sponsors a variety of special services and programs available to the community which provide information and guidance designed to educate the public about the important issues of interest and concern. These programs include:
