The Finance Department completes a quarterly review to measure Greenwood’s long-term financial goals:

  • Practice fiscal discipline by operating structurally balanced budgets
  • Rebuild balances for all major funds, specifically the Rainy Day Fund
  • Issue highest level of financial reporting available
  • Increase financial transparency and compliance

Annual Budget

Thanks to dedicated fiscal planning and management, Greenwood
enjoys a positive financial position.

The city’s Rainy Day Fund and reserves have increased by more than
30 percent from 2012. Every City account is now close to or above a
50 percent reserve, and Standard & Poor’s Rating Services recently
increased Greenwood’s credit rating two notches to A+.
