The Greenwood Finance Department is committed to transparency in fiscal management, recording and reporting. The department oversees all city funds by creating, analyzing and managing annual budgets. Thanks to dedicated fiscal planning and management, Greenwood
enjoys a positive financial position.
The city’s Rainy Day Fund and reserves have increased by more than
30 percent from 2012. Every City account is now close to or above a
50 percent reserve, and Standard & Poor’s Rating Services recently
increased Greenwood’s credit rating two notches to A+.
In 2015, Greenwood was awarded its second consecutive Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association. Greenwood was one of only two Indiana cities to receive the designation.
