The City of Greenwood has launched a public education and outreach campaign asking residents to identify and correct illegal sump pump and downspout connections. Such illicit connections occur when sump pumps, downspouts, etc. are tied to the sanitary sewer system rather than properly discharging into the yard, storm swale or stormwater system.
