Greenwood expands Monster Mash Halloween event to accommodate growing popularity
Family-friendly community celebration will feature updated layout, VIP ticket option

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Greenwood’s Park & Recreation Department will host the city’s annual Halloween trick-or-treat event, Monster Mash, at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18. The spooktacular celebration is moving to Craig Park and will take place along the park’s Play Pocket Trail to accommodate the event’s increasing popularity and attendance.

“Like many of Greenwood’s community-focused events, we continue to see more attendees, more involvement from local businesses and more interest in general,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark W. Myers. “Monster Mash has become an annual favorite, both for families and city staff. When we invest in our community’s quality of life, the returns are exponential.”

Another new addition to this year’s event is a VIP ticket, which costs $5 and includes early access from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and a hot dog dinner.

General admission, hosted from 6 to 8 p.m., is free to the public. Costumed attendees will walk the trick-or-treat trail, visiting nearly 40 vendors, jump in a series of bounce houses, enjoy hayrides and more. All guests receive a complimentary cookie and cider as well.

“It’s extremely rewarding to see and hear the positive reaction to Monster Mash and other community celebrations,” said Greenwood Parks & Recreation Director Rob Taggart. “We look forward to another fun event and can’t wait to see this year’s costumes.”
