Greenwood kicks off Summer Concert Series, prepares for highly anticipated 2021 lineup
45RPM takes Amphitheater Park stage Saturday at 7 p.m.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The City of Greenwood’s popular Summer Concert Series begins its 2021 season this Saturday at the Greenwood Amphitheater in Craig Park. Nearly every Saturday evening between June and September, Greenwood residents, visitors and their families will gather with lawn chairs, blankets and snack-filled coolers to enjoy live performances spanning a variety of musical genres.

City leaders hope the Summer Concert Series can bring people together, in a safe manner, following a year of isolation due to the global pandemic.

“The Summer Concert Series is always a fan favorite event for residents and Greenwood visitors,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark W. Myers. “This year, the Summer Concert Series represents an even more special opportunity for connectivity and celebration within the community. I want to thank the Greenwood Parks and Recreation Department for making this event possible and safe for all attendees.”

The Greenwood Parks Department conducted the series in 2020, limiting capacity and creating zones for attendees. Those restrictions will no longer be in place.

The official 2021 Summer Concert Series schedule, presented by Johnson Memorial Health, includes:

  • June 5 – 45RPM
  • June 12 – Stella Luna
  • June 19 – Blue River Band
  • July 10 – The Big 80s
  • July 17 – Toy Factory
  • July 24 – Country Summer
  • July 31 – The Woomblies
  • August 7 – The Nauti Yachtys
  • August 14 – Tastes Like Chicken

Concertgoers can enjoy refreshments from Oaken Barrel Brewing Co. and Mallow Run Winery. Food vendors will also be available at Craig Park, and attendees can bring food and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) current guidelines, vaccinated attendees for COVID-19 do not need to wear a mask. However, city leaders are encouraging all attendees to continue to social distance and practice COVID-19 preventative measures.
