Having undergone a multi-million dollar renovation, the Greenwood Community Center has been completely re-imagined.
With Freedom Springs, Greenwood created an experience you can’t find anywhere else: taller slides with more twists and turns, a lazy river, cabanas and shelters for groups and large parties, an “island” that functions as a stage for live music performances, and much more.
Freedom Springs is open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day.
As part of its redevelopment of the former Greenwood Middle School property, the city preserved and repurposed the former gymnasium into a new downtown fieldhouse. The facility includes turf fields, hardwood courts, an elevated walking track, golf simulators and more.
The Greenwood Sports Park is home to two quads of softball/baseball diamonds (eight total fields), with artificial turf infields and natural grass outfields. The park hosts a state-of-the-art playground, the city’s second splash pad, a multiuse sports field with a cricket pitch and an interconnected trail network.
