The Sanitation Department maintains a sewer system featuring nearly 500 miles of existing pipe serving more than 24,000 residents, businesses, schools and other organizations in northern Johnson County.
The Stormwater Department manages and protects critical infrastructure and improves the ecological health of our environment.
Greenwood’s Street Department keeps roadways safe, making travel throughout the city as convenient and pleasurable as possible.
It takes these specialties working together that makes Greenwood an exceptional place to live, work and play.
Community Career Education Forum (CCEF)
Hosted by Endress + Hauser, last year's CCEF welcomed nearly 1,000 students, parents, educators and manufacturing professionals from all over Johnson County and Southern Marion County to learn about S.T.E.M. and career opportunities in advanced manufacturing. At this year's forum, students will have the opportunity to speak with industry partners, local universities and other community groups through a virtual experience.
A highlight of the City’s CCEF exhibit will be the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), located at Indy South Greenwood Airport, and its after school programs for middle and high school students. The EAA programs’ are project-based learning and taught by FAA certified instructors and licensed state teachers through the new Aeronautical Center of Technology. The EAA provides FAA certified ground school for high school students and work with local CFIs for fight lessons.
