Fellow Citizens,

Like other cities across the country, Greenwood continues to monitor and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our community. This is a fluid situation, and we expect the rapidly shifting landscape to persist for the foreseeable future. Our top priority is the health and safety of this community and its citizens.

With that in mind, please note the following updates:

• Common Council will meet as planned tomorrow at Greenwood City Center. If you feel you must attend the meeting, please keep a safe distance from others. We encourage citizens to view the meeting via the city’s YouTube Channel where all Council meetings are broadcasted live and saved for future viewing. If you would like to provide comments on any agenda item, please do so via Citizen Connect on the city’s website.
  
  
• In an effort to limit interaction within Greenwood City Center, we request that citizens and businesses wanting to make utility payments in-person do so using the drop box outside the City Center building.
  
  
• During tomorrow’s Council meeting, I plan to introduce a special resolution that will provide greater flexibility for city employees to operate our local government given the current environment and anticipated disruptions in the future.  

Again, more changes are likely, and we will make decisions as new information becomes available.
