GREENWOOD, Ind. – Greenwood’s Parks & Recreation Department will host its third annual Greenwood Pickleball Open August 27-29, following Pickleball and Pints on August 26. The three-day event will be held on several pickleball courts in Craig Park, with men’s events on Friday, women’s events on Saturday and a mixed doubles event on Sunday.
More than 130 pickleball enthusiasts have registered for the Pickleball Open, and all proceeds will support the pickleball amenities in Greenwood. Registration for the event closed on August 13.
“Greenwood has fully embraced the popularity of pickleball, and our Parks and Recreation Department does a fabulous job of managing these events,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark W. Myers. “The three-day event attracts participants from around the greater Indianapolis area, and we look forward to witnessing the action on the courts at Craig Park.”
The winning team for each skill level will receive a $100 gift card, and second-place finishers will receive a $50 dollar gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods.
