Welcome to the website for the City of Greenwood!

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Greenwood’s Parks & Recreation Department will host the return of beloved events and activities for all ages throughout this holiday season, including the Amphitheater Lighted Trail, KiD CiTY Christmas, musical performances, a coloring contest and Breakfast with Santa.

“The success of and excitement surrounding these events highlight Greenwood’s deep commitment to quality of life and place,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark W. Myers. “As holiday programming begins to kick off, we look forward to welcoming residents and visitors as they enjoy these events.”

The festivities will kick off at the Greenwood Community Center on Dec. 2 with KiD CiTY Christmas and the Amphitheater Lighted Trail. Attendees are invited to take a train ride along the trail, watch a holiday movie, enjoy various refreshments including popcorn and hot cocoa and take a photo with Santa.

For an additional fee, attendees can participate in a special make-your-own stuffed animal craft. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online or at the Greenwood Community Center.

The Amphitheater Lighted Trail is free all season and will continue to be lit every night from dusk to dawn through New Year’s Day. Musical groups will take to the amphitheater stage at various times throughout the month to further enrich the holiday ambiance. The trail itself will incorporate over 42,000 lights, including candy cane tunnels and 85 trees of lights.

Children are also invited to participate in this year’s Christmas Coloring Contest. Entries will be accepted until Dec. 10, and three winners will be selected for each age group: ages 4 and under, 5-7, and 8 and up. Parents with interested children can find the coloring contest image on Greenwood’s events page on the city website.

Breakfast with Santa will also return on Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Greenwood Community Center. Follow this link to learn more about ticketing for this event.
