Last weekend of the season for Freedom Springs Aquatic Center
Greenwood’s popular summer attraction closes Sept. 3

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Freedom Springs Aquatic Center will close another successful season of summer fun on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Greenwood’s popular warm-weather attraction – managed by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department – is completing its fifth year of operations.

“Freedom Springs is a valued public amenity in our city, serving residents and attracting visitors from around the state,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark W. Myers. “We will continue to invest in quality of life improvements as a proven strategy to retain and attract residents while driving economic development.”

Last season, Freedom Springs made several facility improvements including an extended parking lot, a free sunscreen station, additional large shade umbrellas and a 17-foot drop slide next to the lap pool. This year’s improvements included an updated lily pad crossing and additional shade trees.

“Freedom Springs has become an extremely popular destination for residents and visitors of all ages,” said Greenwood Parks & Recreation Director Rob Taggart. “The turnout this year, despite extended periods of rain, shows just how much the facility means to our community.”

The last event at Freedom Springs will be the city’s annual Puppy POOLooza on Sept. 7. For additional details on Puppy POOLooza, pricing, hours, park features and other information, please visit greenwood.in.gov.
